I Just LOVE this Author. Lani brings it every month and I am in awe of her writing ability. Each story brings you a sexy bearded alpha man who totally brings the love. Oh gosh, I just don't know what else to say without sounding like I have a girl crush on Lani!

Okay, onto this book.

When Lani branched out into the beard series, I was hesitant. Not because I didn't think she could do it, but because they were the unknown. I wasn't sure how they would all tie into her previous books. Once again, I read the first one and was hooked. I really think I'm hooked for life. I love how some of my favorite people make an appearance each one of her books. It's hard for me to sometimes keep them all straight, so I'm in awe in her ability to connect each character to other book characters.

I was not sure how Naomi fit into things. I knew Sean was connected because of Big Papa and Memphis, but I couldn't figure out Naomi. (Memphis is married to Downey "Bang Switch") Within the first paragraph, I put it together. (Again, She keeps them all straight, I get all confused without my notebook. I wouldn't be able to do this many books and keep all the connections clear.....I bow to you Lani, you are my author hero.) Naomi is the sister to Danny and best friends with Aspen. Aspen is my favorite jilted ex hero when she went Carrie Underwood on Danny's truck when she caught him cheating (Oxygen Deprived) I've always wanted to do what she did. IT WAS AWESOME (and illegal, I don't recommend doing this). Anyway, I digress.

Naomi and Sean coming together is just about perfect. It's realistic and is almost a sneak attack. It's gradual. It's a build. It makes you fall in love with them. It isn't the instant love that you sometimes see. Yes the attraction is there, but it's not insta-love. I really wanted to kick Naomi's brother's butt for what he did to her. I felt her awkwardness and pain for what she had to do to keep healthy. The acceptance that Sean has for her struggles really makes me love him more and more. Their friendship is really what is the foundation of their relationship. The pain and grief he felt when they lost the baby and Naomi almost died, I felt that. You feel the pain and grief of both Naomi and Sean when they are dealing with the loss and the aftermath. As a parent, I could relate to how difficult it would be to lose a child. Even with all that emotion, the laughter was still there. I seriously read and re-read the squatty potty scene. I laughed so hard EACH TIME I READ IT. It is by far my ALL TIME FAVORITE scene! That's also what I love about her books. Oh and the sex scenes. Those are always hot. Who doesn't love a hot bearded alpha man throwing his woman around? If you don't love that, then I pray for you. It's hot and great mommy porn. Just sayin'.

Lani uses REAL locations, REAL situations, and REAL pop cultural things. While I love getting lost in a good book that is TOTALLY made up, I really prefer to read books like Lani's. She doesn't hold back and make it all struggles with everything working out in the end. There is laughter, tears, love, hate, and sometimes death in her books. She gives you real life situations, with a little bit of made up. That's what keeps me coming back and pre-ordering her books each month. I am proud to say I own ALL of her books, digitally. I will begin my paperback collection soon. :)

Lani, I hope your characters keep talking to you. I will be sad if it ever ends. Thank you for providing me with monthly books of sexy bearded alpha men. While I have a real life version, a girl can never have too many in her life that she loves. Thank you!

As a long-time, die-hard fan of Lani Lynn Vale’s work, her monthly releases are constant and consistent source of pleasure for me. Her writing style is one that speaks to me. Her quirky sense of humor is rooted in reality in such a way that those moments are ones the reader can envision happening in their life with their friends. Her books never let me down and never fail to amuse and entertain me. But more than that, Vale always manages to deliver a romance that is a perfect balance of pleasure, pain and passion. It’s an addiction for me, and I am completely, unabashedly hooked.

I’m Only Here For The Beard is the fourth book in Vale’s Dixie Warden Rejects series, a spin-off of her best-selling, fan favorite Heroes of the Dixie Wardens series. Vale has grown tremendously as an author since that series, branching out into somewhat darker themes, with sexier storylines. There has been a lot of experimentation in her writing since that series, and it all comes together in this series.

This book is Sean and Naomi’s story. Two souls unlucky in love, brought together professionally but unable to fight the passionate draw between them. I couldn’t help but root for them to find their way; they both wanted love but had been burned by it in the past. A little gun-shy, a bit tentatively, slowly they come together in a story that was explosive, magical and vibrant.

I absolutely adored this book. While technically a standalone, I highly recommend that the series be read in order for the best experience. This book kept me tapping my late into the night – I couldn’t get enough, I couldn’t read fast enough. Full of hope, humor and heat, I’m Only Here For The Beard is another fantastic story from an author who consistently turns them out. Five smooches from me!

Lani Lynn Vale never fails to make me fall in love with her men. Seriously. No matter how much I may want to slap the hell out of them at times, I mean they are men after all lol. Sean just fell in my top three men from Lani. Trance being my all time favorite, SIGH. And a bit of a spoiler, he makes a cameo in this book so I was in double heaven.

Sean is so my kind of guy. He is a take charge kind of guy who goes after what and who he wants. Even after going through several heart breaks he still falls for Naomi. He tries to down play his feelings for her because he figures she's just like all the other women who he thought were the one only to let him go. Which I might add was their loss. Because if I had him, I would never let him go.

Naomi has been dealt way to many blows in life and I felt for her instantly. But she's the kind of person who she bounces back stronger then before. If not just a little more cautious. There were a few times I wanted to shake her but I kind of understood why she did what she did.

Sean and Naomi's past helped them heal each other I think. They each had gone through a few similar types of relations/break ups and were both cautious with one another because of it. But once they decided to go for it they were phenomenal together. They knew pretty much how to handle each other. And they had great chemistry. Partly I think because they became friends first and learned each other's past.

This was one of my favorite reads from Lani Lynn Vale and I highly recommend it
