Another fine Ben Hood read.This one starts with the theft of explosivess from a mine. Loads of explosives. Enough to blow a town off the map. That town is Alice Springs.
The perpetrator of the theft is an aboriginal named Paddy. He has loads of hatred for the whites and sees them as the reason for everything bad in his life and the lives of all aboriginals.
Paddy has a couple of assistants neither of whom are all that bright.
Detective Inspector Wallace is in charge of the police in Alice Springs and he now knows that 24 hours ago all the explosives were stolen from a mining operation.
The man who should have informed him is Constable Moon. Moon knew about the theft but said nothing. He and the mine manager figured the explosives were still on site, just somewhere where they weren't supposed to be.
Wallace is mad as hell and knows if these explosive have been stolen and anyone uses them it will be a blood bath.
Ben Hood is in Paris with Sam, Irene and Ivy Cruz. He's been invited to dinner on the top of the Eifel Tower. An invitation that was made months ago. He's having a good time with Sam, Irene and Ivy.
Milba Berry is 21 years old. She's aboriginal and a beauty. She's been a model and is now into acting which she's quite good at.
Milba has a stalker and her agent, Heather Raintree thinks Milba needs a bodyguard. A bodyguard recomended by Merinda Jerome. Ben Hood of course.
So begins one damned fine read.
This one has Ben, Milba, Heather, Paddy, his band of idiots, stolen explosives, a police department behind at every turn, murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and Ben Hood once again in a race to save lives.
Five Stars and then some.

Great characters and story line--very enjoyable. After I read the first book, I bought all of his others and read them one after another!
always fun to read about Ben Hood's latest detective case. Drew Lindsay keeps you turning the pages. He's a master of mystery.
Another good Ben Hood story! I love how when reading the book you just get so into the characters and story you can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

Ben once again gets his target. He saves a town in the heart of Australia from being raised to the ground because of hate and racial problems. Once again Ben saves the leading character from a fate worse than death. As usual a great read. I have read all books in this series and would be so excited if the series was to continue.
An Explosive Affair had the chance to be explosive, but Ben stopped that. I kind of would have liked to have had more background as to why the bad guys wanted to blow things sky high. But had that happened, we would not have seen as much of Ben.
Make no mistake, I LOVE these books and am a bit sad that I can read faster than Mr Lindsay can write. I am glad to own a kindle so I can get my Hood fix anytime I want.
I am a devoted fan of this author and I love it when characters from the earlier books manage to make a guest appearance like they do here. SPOILER ALERT I really like the Cruz girls and I was especially happy how that visit turned out. Also we get a drop-in from Merinda to shake up Ben as well. In my opinion, Ben is at his best when the ladies keep him off balance. SPOILERS ENDED.
Anyway, all of that is prologue to the real story, which finds Ben mixed up again with movie folk and protecting a young actress while confronted by a new mystery. The action is fast, the twists unexpected, and story is one which echoes back to past wrongs. If you have had the pleasure of reading any of the the Ben Hood novels in the past, pick this one up as another winner.
